My Christmas Biscuit Recipe <3

Snowflakes

Makes 30

Ingredients:

2 3/4 cups plain flour

1 cup icing sugar

125g butter, cubed, chilled

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Place flour and 3/4 cup sugar in a food processor. Process for 30 seconds. Add butter. Process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add egg and vanilla. Process until dough comes together. Transfer to a lightly floured surface. Knead dough until smooth. Press into a 20cm diameter disc, wrap in greaseproof paper and refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

Line 2 flat baking trays with baking paper. Roll out dough between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Using snowflake biscuit cutters, cut shapes out of dough. Place on trays. Press leftover dough together and repeat. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.

Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake biscuits for 10 minutes swapping trays after 5 minutes, or until light golden. Allow to cool on trays completely. Dust with remaining sugar.

Christmas is coming but I’ve got no money :D

That’s right! It’s only a month away and I need a lot of presents for a really big family of mine. For the last week I could not stop thinking of the ways to save money, but still give something special to people I love. I don’t want to give them something cheep just for the sake of giving…

The first thing I did (as most of us do nowadays) was to go on Google and look for ideas there. A lot to choose from, but everything is sooooo crammed into really long articles that I just can’t be bothered to read! C’mon people! We are short of time here!

So I started thinking my self (that’s rare)

The first idea I came up with – was cooking! I’m good at it – might as well use it! So I bought myself a tin of lovely snowflake cookie cutters, bought few white paper boxes and found a perfect recipe (which I’m going to put on here). That’s few people sorted! Perfect for neighbours!

Second thing I thought about was sewing. Yes sewing, I know it’s not very popular thing but it’s perfect for making little toys for kids, making handbags, making little Christmas angels! So I found few creatures on-line that I might try and ‘copy’

I’ve settled with these two ideas so far Hopefully there will be more coming into my head soon and my Christmas budget is not going to be too SMALL
